Being part of both the chronic and disabled communities I understand first hand how frustrating it can be not only dealing with your circumstances, but also advocating for yourself. At first its rather overwhelming, however with time some of us reach a point where we use our experiences, mistakes, and understanding for out diagnosis or disability to help others like ourselves navigate through life. We create brands, organizations, and content to help others understand what we deal with on a day to day basis to help bridge the gap and ultimately help other suffer less.
Through advocacy we are able to create communities that allow others to share their stories and experience to that community.
Advocacy is all around connecting people within our communities not only to each other, but also to resources and the help they need.
Advocacy allows us to voice the change we want to see not only in our communities, but also in the world we live in to help all of those within the community.
Advocacy allows us to lift others up and give them hope that they are not alone and can still do amazing things.
Advocacy allows us to share important information about rights, treatments, and resources for our communities.
I like to think that advocacy leave a lasting impact on those within the community, driving them forward to bigger and better things.
